WHAT: Inspired by the fight to defend Bogota, Colombia’s largest wetland Humedal Tibabuyes we’re calling for community focused events or action grounded in the need to defend our wetlands from destruction and greenwashing.

If able, we also invite you to connect with your local tribal traditional owners to share the spiritual connection of the people and the land.

We invite people to bring out their ‘’love letters to our wetland’’ from the March 22nd digital event to share with one another and be connected by the collective love for sacred wetlands.

📢 Action: Organize a peaceful demonstration exposing corporations or government policies that threaten wetlands under the guise of sustainability.

2. Educational Walks

🚶‍♀️ Action: Host guided walks led by environmental experts, Indigenous leaders, or local activists to teach about the wetland’s ecological and cultural importance.

3. Prayer Gathering for the Wetlands

4. Indigenous Knowledge & Spiritual Connection Sharing

🔥 Action: Partner with Indigenous groups and traditional landowners to host a gathering where they share stories, rituals, and practices related to the spiritual and ecological significance of wetlands.

5. Wetland Restoration & Clean-up Days

🌱 Action: Organize a community clean-up and habitat restoration day at the wetland to remove waste, plant native species, and restore degraded areas.
